The Harris (my husband) is in a band. They meet to practice in a room in the building that houses the local Habitat resale store. At this moment, I’m sitting (very quietly) while they are recording a demo. I had no idea how tedious the process could be. But we are together, each of us pursuing the thing we like to do.
My current project is a set of Christmas stockings for a bridal shower gift. The bride-to-be has been a friend of my daughter since they were in preschool. I’ve watched her grow from a funny kid to a lovely woman.
Her favorite color is yellow and his is blue. Both stockings will be mostly white but with a colored cuff, heel and toe. I plan to add some Christmas fry-fru, but that’s hard to locate at Hobby Lobby in July. I might have to order something. The shower is set for August 11. We’ll see what happens.
I’m using the red 31 peg loom from Knifty Knitter.
The yarn is a super bulky from Yarn Bee called True Colors: white, navy blue, and yellow. I bought 4 skeins of white (2 each) because I wrote down that I had used 2 of the Hometown Sequoia in T-Rexie’s stocking last year.
The navy cuff is about 20 or so rows folded double. Then I attached the white.
They are still recording. I can’t locate the pick that lifts the yarn over the pegs. I must have either left it at home or it’s in The Harris’s truck. The US 8 aluminum dpn is working as an emergency solution, but I’m terrified I’ll drop it on the floor and bring their production to a standstill.
